NewspaperDirect to Distribute Print-on-Demand Newspapers at Salt Lake 2002 Winter Games

100 Newspaper Titles from 80 Countries Available to Olympic Attendees
New York, NY: NewspaperDirect, the leading print-on-demand newspaper delivery service, today announced that it will supply newspapers from around the world to the international community attending the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Games. Following on the success of the program at the Sydney 2000 Summer Games, NewspaperDirect plans to distribute approximately 80,000 out-of-market newspapers to attendees, athletes and media personnel. NewspaperDirect, in partnership with Newspaper Agency Corporation, will produce and distribute the newspapers at locations including the Athlete's Village, Media Expo and more than 20 local area hotels.
Under the program, participating publishers transmit their newspapers to the NewspaperDirect Network Operating Center, which then electronically distributes the papers in their entirety to various locations in Salt Lake City, Park City, Deer Valley and the surrounding area. Olympic attendees will have access to the world's most popular newspapers, including International Herald Tribune, La Stampa (Italy), Il Giornale (Italy), Neue Zurcher Zeitung (Switzerland), Aftenposten (Norway), Algemeen Dagblad (Netherlands), Suddeutsche Zeitung (Germany), The Washington Post, Dong-A Ilbo (South Korea), and The Daily Telegraph (UK). More than 100 same day newspaper titles will be available from 80 markets worldwide.
