Konica Corporation Exclusive NewspaperDirect Licensee for Japan

New York, NY: NewspaperDirect, the leading innovator in out-of-market newspaper delivery, today named Konica Corporation as its exclusive license partner for Japan. The service will be deployed throughout Japan as "Konica NewspaperDirect". NewspaperDirect's selection of over 120 newspaper titles will now be available at installations using Konica equipment throughout Japan.

Konica plans a quick roll out of the service throughout Japan, leveraging its network of printing partners and existing newspaper distribution channels to supply hotels, retail, businesses and subscribers with out-of-market newspapers. Tourists and foreigners will be able to read their favorite newspaper throughout Japan. At present, Konica and its partners are printing NewspaperDirect newspapers for distribution at the 2002 World Cup in Japan.
