MTN to Provide OceanNews Sameday Newspaper Service to Norwegian Cruise Line

Source: MTN News Release

Miramar, Florida: Maritime Telecommunications Network, Inc. (MTN), today announced that they have entered into an agreement with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) to become the exclusive fleet-wide provider for OceanNews onboard newspaper services.

MTN, the leader in maritime communications and a Verestar company, has formed a strategic alliance with NewspaperDirect, which will allow guests on the NCL vessels to receive same-day editions of their favorite newspapers, including The Wall Street Journal and USA Today, while at sea. Transmitted via satellite and the Internet, the newspaper available on the ship is the same as the one delivered on land, complete with all editorial and advertising content. Digitally printed on high-speed laser printers, the OceanNews version is a more portable 11×17 inches in size, and the ink doesn't rub off on the readers' hands. Guests can subscribe for the entire cruise or order individual newspapers at any time during a voyage. The addition of personalized newspaper services will enable NCL to provide one more special amenity to their guests in addition to the most sophisticated communications networks available, including high-speed telephone, fax and data communication services and a variety of Internet capabilities already furnished by MTN. OceanNews is one more way that MTN makes the conveniences and comforts of home available even while at sea.

"We look forward to delivering OceanNews and other exciting, emerging technologies to our customers," states David Kagan, Chief Executive Officer of MTN. "Now, reading the morning news can be a part of the cruise ship experience and NCL's guests can stay in touch with local, national and international news, wherever they are."

NCL is the innovative developer of Freestyle Cruising, the most creative and unique cruise experience, which provides passengers with extensive freedom of choice. Whether you're dining, enriching your mind or body, or just relaxing, NCL has created a world of options. Guests can choose their style of cuisine, manner of dress, meal times and settings, tailoring the cruise experience to fit them.

"Through Freestyle Cruising, Norwegian Cruise Line offers passengers the same amenities they would find at five-star land-based resorts, and offering current issues of USA Today and The Wall Street Journal everyday illustrates this," said Colin Veitch, President and Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line. "We're proud to partner with MTN to bring our passengers this exciting new service."
