Global Newspaper Service To Be Branded "WorldNews"
NewspaperDirect, the leading innovator in out-of-market newspaper delivery, today announced a worldwide agreement with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, part of Six Continents Hotels PLC. Under this agreement, 140 InterContinental hotels and resorts will implement the NewspaperDirect service as a standard facility available to its guests.
Guests staying at an InterContinental hotel will be able to have a copy of their preferred local newspaper, wherever they may be traveling in the world. These newspapers are provided through NewspaperDirect, which uses its technology to distribute and print digitally imaged, full-format newspapers directly to leading hotels, retailers and corporations, and through its global network of license partners.
NewspaperDirect's network of over 150 newspaper titles include The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Times of London, Le Monde, Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Mainichi Shimbun, Washington Post, USA TODAY, Daily Mirror, El Pais, Clarin, Los Angeles Times, South China Morning Post, Il Giornale, An Nahar, Dong-A-Ilbo, Aftonbladet, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Gazeta Mercantil, Neue Zurcher Zeitung, De Telegraaf and many more.

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts plan to begin roll out of the "WorldNews" service on 23 September 2002, with all of its 140 worldwide hotels offering the service by February 2003.
