Times Online Launches NewspaperDirect's SmartEdition ePaper Solution

Vancouver, Canada, October 18, 2005NewspaperDirect is pleased to announce that The Times and The Sunday Times (London), have selected its SmartEdition ePaper solution for its Times Online e-paper.

NewspaperDirect's SmartEdition solution allows publishers to display their newspapers on the web in their original formats, with no capital investment and with zero operational costs.

"The Times Online e-paper, powered by NewspaperDirect, offers our readers an intuitive digital representation of The Times and The Sunday Times newspapers, for subscribers accessing from outside the UK and Republic of Ireland," said Dan Leonard, Product Manager, Times Online. "The e-paper is available online each day from 5am GMT. Following a seamless migration of our e-paper subscriber database on 1st August 2005, NewspaperDirect have added search, multiple views, a 30-day archive and the ability to trial the product free for 7 days to our existing product offering".

As well as working with NewspaperDirect to provide an improved experience for our readers, Times Online also wanted a partner who could manage the entire online subscription process, leaving them to focus on creating the best online content for their subscribers.
